Umbwe Route

The Umbwe Route, which is also based in the south, is a classic 5-day tour and is by far the most difficult one offered on Kilimanjaro.
The first two days are extremly steep, muddy and generally strenuous making it only suitabe for well-trained mountaineers. 

Only 2% of all mountain tourists try their luck by choosing this route.

Venturous, experienced and very fit tourists can also try their luck on the Western Breach Route via Lava Tower.
